On my way down, I prayed, “God, don’t let me die.” And then I prayed, “Lord, don’t let me be paralyzed.” I had broken three vertebrae in my neck. On the emergency flight out of the field, I had an encounter with God. I saw a bright light, and I heard a voice say, “Everything is going to be OK.” I felt a warmth over my whole body. I knew I was going to be fine. When the doctor looked at my initial x-rays (BEFORE) and the follow-up images (AFTER), they were totally different. It wasn’t instantaneous. I was in a HALO brace for three months. I had to learn how to walk again. But I was back in school the next semester.
In those few months, God revealed to me His power, what He can truly do. People were amazed to see me back. It humbled me to see the love I had around me. It all helped me lean on God and His mercy, grace and love.

People sometimes think it’s comical to see a football player kneel in prayer on the football field, before a game. This is a wonderful example to people that those prayers work! God can answer prayers even on the football field. Alabado sea Dios!
