Revelations 12: 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;  and they loved not their lives unto the death.

I was at a service and I stopped trying to seek speaking in tongues and just prayed that God would do something in my life. And all by myself, without anyone coming to pray for me, I just began speaking in tongues. It was finally just released in my spirit.

Basically, speaking in tongues was the gift that resulted from me seeking after God himself.
